Rishi Sunak is a British politician. He is a member of the Conservative Party. Sunak was born on 24th September 1982 in London, England, to Indian descent parents. His parents migrated from East Africa in the early 1960s. He studied at Magdalen College, Oxford, and graduated with an undergraduate degree in philosophy, politics, and economics (PPE). He also gained an MBA from Stanford University.

Rishi Sunak's career entered 2001 as an analyst for Goldman Sachs where he worked for three years. He then worked with the Hedge fund after an MBA. In 2009, he joined another hedge fund firm based in California. He also served as a director of Catamaran Ventures, owned by his father-in-law,

After giving up his profession, he entered politics and became a conservative party member. Sunak, who is also known for being the youngest MP, was elected to Parliament in 2010. In 2015, he was elected to the House of Commons to replace William Hague for Richmond in North Yorkshire. Sunak supported Brexit in the 2016 referendum on EU membership and on July 14, 2016, was elected Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State to Prime Minister Theresa May. Later Sunak became prime minister of the United Kingdom on Oct. 25, 2022, following Tré's resignation in the government crisis.

He married Akshata Murty, daughter of N. R. Narayana Murthy, founder of Infosys, a technology company. Akshata Murty owns a 0.91% stake in Infosys, valued at about $900 million (£690 million) in April 2022, making her one of the wealthiest women in the UK.

Sunak and Murty met while studying at Stanford University; they have two daughters, Murty is a director of her father's investment firm, Catamaran Ventures, and owns Kirby Sigston Manor in the village of Kirby Sigston in North Yorkshire, as well as a mansion in Earl's Court in central London, a flat on Old Brompton Road in South Kensington, and a penthouse flat on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica, California. Sunak is a teetotaler.

Regarding LGBT rights, Sunak stated at the July 2022 debate that he wants the UK to be "the safest and greatest country in the world to be LGBT+." He said that "prejudice towards trans persons is wrong" when questioned about alleged or perceived transphobia within his party. No matter who they are or where they come from, the Conservative Party is a kind, open family to everyone in society. Sunak stated that he thinks biology is "essential" and "basic" when it comes to bathrooms and competitive sports, but he also believes that transgender persons should be "respected."

Sunak has expressed support for lowering net migration. An official spokesperson said, "He’s committed to ensuring we have control over our borders and the public rightly expects us to control immigration and have a system that works best for the UK. He has said that the "current asylum system is broken and it needs to be fixed urgently", saying he would, in his first 100 days as prime minister, tighten our statutory definition of who qualifies for asylum in the UK ... This will prevent anyone who enters the UK illegally from staying here, that the "Parliament will be given control of the number of refugees we accept each year", that he "cannot underestimate the role of data sharing which will make it easier to identify people who are in the UK illegally, and that the Rwanda asylum plan is the right one", among other things. Responding to criticism surrounding some of his proposals about illegal immigration, Sunak said there was "absolutely nothing racist" about it.

Sunak has said that he favors reducing net migration. The public wants us to manage immigration and have a system that works best for the UK, and he is dedicated to ensuring we have control over our borders. He has stated that the "existing asylum system is dysfunctional, and it needs to be rectified swiftly," adding that he would "tighten our statutory definition of who qualifies for asylum in the UK" in his first 100 days as prime minister. By doing this, everyone who enters the UK unlawfully cannot stay.
